Yesterday Sean and I rode 40 miles in some really strong wind. I'm glad he's 6'3" . He makes a great wind blocker. I felt like I had been doing squats for 2 hours by the time we finished. It seemed we couldn't get a break. We briefly had a tail wind and were easily cruising 28 mph ., that's how strong the wind was.

Ran 5 today and we're going to ride 25 this p.m.

Saturday was fun , we spent the a.m. working with the Lake Co. PAL for kids . The kids are training for either a Triathlon or a cycling race. They had a lot of fun doing a transition practice as they raced their friend to see who could transition the fastest. There was a lot of laughing going on which is the whole point of being active...having fun!

USAC and new running partner Dixie

I finally got the USAC coach test mailed in. There were several stops and starts. Now I'm officially a level 3 coach. Now I'm the boss of you and I know everything. ( just kidding!).

Rode 35 ran 3 with my new training partner ,Dixie. Sean, Bill ,Steve, Kevin and myself did intervals off Cherry Lake Rd. Good work out. The course had rollers and it was verrry windy.

Everybody has spring training fever. Saw lots of cyclists and triathletes today. We then topped our day off with a tasty grilled chicken sandwich at the Tiki Hut.

Old School

So I haven't been on here for a while. I've been really busy and had a series of "unfortunate events" occur in the last few weeks. I'm due for some good news.
Anyway, here are some old school cycling photos from the Keystone Open 1980. YIKES!! Am I getting old or what. A friend of mine found these and forwarded them to me on Facebook. It's amazing how many friends from the past you can find on there.
I didn't steal the shirt or make my own out of someone's front porch Ol' Glory. It's really mine and that's really me. Kinda cool, huh?! See my old ALAN aluminum gold bicycle ? So light..maybe 30 lbs....give or take a few. Those were the days :-)
